Kidwelly Castle close to the start of the cycle pathThe route is often started from the centre of Kidwlly close to Kidwelly Castle from here you follow the route as it takes you you through the sandy environment of Pembrey Forest which is a unique sand dune forest which has been designated an area of special scientific interest till you reach the Millennium Coastal Park which is an attraction in its own self with ski slopes, toboggan runs , miniature railway, adventure playground and beautiful beach. The route takes in some beautiful coastline before reach two dramatic land bridges which take you safely across the train line. The route finishes at The Wildfowl and Wetland Centre Llanelli.
The Kidwelly to Llanelli cycle path is suitable for cyclists of all ages and abilities, the path is traffic free apart for one small section at the start from Kidwelly. The surface is tarmac and gravel and with no hills on route the route is rated as easy.
The path offers a number of areas to stop for refreshments as well as a number of stopping points to stop and enjoy the magnificent scenery, if there is a drawback it is that much of the path takes a coastal route and can suffer from strong winds.
