The National Seal Sanctuary is a rescue, rehabilitation and release centre for Seals. Located on the banks of the River Helford in Cornwall the sanctuary has grown extensively since its foundation in 1958 and now has 6 pools housing all manner of seals including Grey seals and Californian Sea Lions, the sanctuary has also become the home to otters, sheep and even ponies.
The Sanctuary has developed into a popular tourist attraction, children particularly enjoy viewing the seals from the underwater observation windows. The seals are feed 3 times a day at 11am, 2pm and 3.30pm were you get the chance not only to watch the seals feed (always a feel good experience) but to also hear the stories behind the seals. Admission to the sanctuary is free however they do request donations to help with the upkeep of the sanctuary and to maintain the their valuable rescue work, you can if you wish adopt your own seal for £20.
