World Of Beatrix Potter

World of Beatrix Potter
This is a real family attraction and as you would expect everything is child friendly. You enter the World of Beatrix Potter via a very small cinema which seats about 16 people were you watch a short but interesting film about Beatrix telling you about her life and how the characters in her stories came about. Small children may fidget through the film but they won’t have long to wait before the film finishes the doors open wide and you enter the garden of MR McGregor.

From Mr McGregor’s Garden the trail takes you on a journey through all the tales in the books, no characters are missing and many of the familiar scenes are displayed just as they are in the books. The attention to detail is outstanding and children will spend what seems like an eternity taking in every small feature. The designers have made every effort to bring the virtual world to life, clever use of sound and lighting together with smells of flowers, cut grass and coal fires contribute to the magical ambiance associated with Beatrix Potter. In the middle of the attraction you break from the stories and get the chance to find out more about Beatrix Potter via a hands on multimedia exhibition displayed on large screens, children get the chance to crack a few puzzles and even stand next to a life size Beatrix Potter.

At the end of the trail you have the opportunity to have your picture taken against a back drop of the most famous characters, the photo will be displayed in the shop which you enter as you finish the exhibition you are not obliged to buy the photo and no doubt if you have children they will find plenty of other things to spend your money on as the shop is full of tasteful products related to Beatrix Potter. Once you have finished in the shop make your way downstairs to the cafe which sells a delicious selection of cakes and sandwiches.
