The Apex Edinburgh works hard to identify changes they can make to limit environmental damage, then take action to implement a solution. They have a responsible attitude towards energy consumption and are always looking to reduce energy waste. The hotels purchasing policy ensures that they only buy fair trade tea, ethically sourced coffee and eco friendly chemicals.

Apex European Hotel Reviews
Everytime for me
"Having stayed at the Apex European Edinburgh on a number of occasions, I have no hesitation in recommending it. The hotel does have a number of small faults, yes the rooms are small but they are comfortable and well equipped, I certainly will not complain about a room with a large Plasma TV and comfortable bed. Online information does lead you to believe that the hotel is centrally located, I find this somewhat misleading as it’s a least 15 minutes walk to the main shops around Princes Street."

Very Accommodating
"We stayed at the Apex European after a recommendation from my sister, as always when we stay at a hotel for the 1st time we feel apprehensive as we enjoy our weekends away and if the hotel stinks it does effect the enjoyment of the whole weekend. We did not need to have any worries, on arrival at the hotel we were welcomed by a lovely girl who was genuinely welcoming and very willing to help, in fact we found all the staff very accommodating through out stay. Our room was compact but comfortable and the ensuite was great with a very impressive walk in shower. One small drawback was that the lift was not working, we were informed that this was temporary. We used the local knowledge of the staff to get the most out of our stay and I would suggest you do the same if like us you are a 1st time visitor to Edinburgh "

some faults but compensated for by staff
"We stayed at the hotel in June 09, as we have never been to Edinburgh before we researched a number of hotels on Tripadviser but opted to book a room on Clearskyhotels because we liked their carbon offsetting project. We choose the Apex European Edinburgh because the reviews were good, the location was excellent and the price seemed reasonable however they did charge £13.50 each for breakfast which is incredibly expensive for what after all is bacon, eggs and coffee. We found the hotel to be clean and comfortable if perhaps in need of a face lift in certain areas. Our room was on the small side, the bed was comfortable and I can not fault the en-suite facilities, the room did suffer slightly from street noise but nothing to stop us sleeping well. Free car parking is available however it’s a very cramped car park and a bit of a nightmare parking. I have to compliment the staff who at all times were friendly and welcoming, we did not encounter any member of staff who did not greet us with a smile and on each occasion we made a request we received enthusiastic assistance which added to the enjoyment of our stay."
