The Swinton Park has looked at a number of ways to reduce its carbon footprint which are not detrimental to the comfort of their guests. In 2006 the hotel installed a wood chip boiler for the purpose of providing the hotel with heating and hot water. The installation has been a huge success as the boiler uses a renewable energy source which has had the effect of making the hotels heating and water requirements carbon neutral. More recently the hotel installed is own laundry system which uses the very latest technology. This highly efficient system uses 30% less energy and water in the washing process than conventional laundries. Guests may notice that the Swinton Park provides them with recycled pencils, reusable water bottles and energy efficient lighting in the bedrooms. Much of the fruit and vegetables served in the restaurant is grown in the hotels 4 acre gardens to complement this the restaurant try to source as much produce locally and in doing so keeping the carbon footprint of the food served in the restaurant to a minimum.

Swinton Park Reviews
Expensive but worth it
"This is a bit of special hotel, if a bit expensive. As you would expect for the price the accommodation is excellent and staff treat you like royalty. The room was rather decedent, the décor is exquisite. We found the hotel restaurant expensive and to be honest if it was not our wedding anniversary we may have looked for someone else to eat, having said that the food was delicious. "

A nice hotel but no thank you
"We stayed here for a weekend in June and there were a lot of plus points not least the amazing room and en-suite however the downside was the price, the slightly pretentious atmosphere and the very expensive restaurant. Unless you very well off you have to give serious thought to the pros and cons and decided if you want to stay here, despite a thoroughly enjoyable stay I don’t think we will be returning customers."
